The BDB sale was totally worth taking a few buses and a Bart train to get too! I had a great time catching up with the BH team for the second time that week and a good friend of mine from college.

As soon as we stepped into the beautiful location we were greeted with champagne cocktails--which are always good!! There were racks upon racks of gorgeous designer apparel; a few labels were Tibi, T-Bags, Black Halo, Elle Macpherson intimates, and so much more. I settled on trying a gorgeous white cotton Chris and Jamie sheath, and a fun wild Vivienne Westwood poncho, which I thought would bring out my inner Carrie Bradshaw, but looked more like Bozo the clown lost at a Neiman's sample sale.

I left with a beautiful pair of Michael Kors sunglasses, in a gorge mock croc case, courtesy of being a Platinum BDB. Overall, this is a sale not to missed, if you have the opportunity to browse the racks before the crowds get off of work... do so, it is a bit hard to try on stuff when there are no mirrors available.

I am totally a 'gala gal', granted I have never been to a gala, anything that requires me to get dressed up, gussied up or done up, I heart!!! Anyways you ladies look wonderful, and I heard from Seema that it was lots of fun. Maybe one day we shall see each other at one of these fancy events for Brandhabit! Take Care.

Hey Serinsilva, check out inspiredsilver.com, they have amazing REAL silver pieces for a decent price. Also if you live in SF you should check out some of the local sample sales, trade shows. Sheckys Girls Night Out (June 3/4), is one of my favorites, free cocktails, great goodie bags, and a great selection one of kind and unique accesories. Tonight Appel and Frank's Spring Shopping Event is going on in SF, free vino, goodie bag, and a lot of vendors, accesories included. Good Luck!

You can never go wrong with Forver 21 and H&M, you go in with $20.00 and come out with two pairs of unique earrings, a necklace, a ring and some change. To be honest I dont like to spend a lot on my accesories, I prefer to spend on shoes and clothes. The only time I purchased jewelry other than at these two stores was online at shopbop.com (pretty pricey, but great quality). But if you let me know where about you live, I can recommend some great places!

Ocean Beach Clean Up

Photobucket

This weekend I had to pleasure of volunteering for a San Francisco's Ocean Beach cleanup, it was sponsored by Barefoot wines and the Surfrider Foundation. For two hours hundreds of volunteers strapped their hands into latex gloves, prepared themselves with a bio-degradable plastic bag and “garbage picker-upper" and commenced to comb the sands of Ocean Beach and rid it of anything other than sand and shells. Although I did find a lot of seagull feathers, and cigarette butts--nasty, nasty habit people---because there were so many people helping to clean up, I didn't even get one full bag of garbage; but it’s the thought that counts, right?

It was beautiful and sunny day at the beach, but so windy!! After the cleanup, Barefoot wines sponsored an after party for all the volunteers at Beach Chalet, equip with 10 varietals of wines, and champagnes, live music and yummy nibbles. It was an event fit for a queen! My bf and I enjoyed ourselves thoroughly, and will definitely do it again next year!

Mission: Happy Hour

One of my hobbies or methods to unwind is to check out new restaurants and enjoy their happy hour. So last week I found Horizons on San Francisco's famed Broadway Street, wedged between strip joints and nightclubs was the locale I was so looking forward to commencing my Thursday evening at.

I have read the reviews on yelp, with what to order, how the bartenders are major flirts, but to my guest and my surprise no one mentioned that we would be one of two parties in the entire lounge/restaurant, for the hour and half we were there. The attention they paid us was nice since we got our order fairly quick: the truffle and parmesan fries...delish, from now on everything I order must have truffles or at least be doused in truffle oil. The cocktails were really strong, sadly one of my fav drinks Lychee-tini was a bust, it had scent of a dirty martini, and I might swear that it had some olive juice in it- ewwww!

Next time, if there is a next time, I will stick to truffled fries (maybe even the truffle popcorn) and a good ol' beer.

Next up Harlot on Minna, well I couldn't just end the night on a sour or olive-y note! Here I ordered a French martini, has anyone ever had one? It has Chambord in it, and was noticeably strong--geez am I getting old or it my tolerance going down, oh how I miss my college days where I actually wanted a cheap STRONG drink! Those days are long gone, I just want something that tastes good, and isn’t below bottom shelf— I know I’m picky!

Mission: Happy Hour complete! There's two I can cross off my list, stay tuned for more fun times!

The LUST Have Item of the Week

My mother always cautioned me to be prepared, and with this brillint find you will never get left in the cold so-to speak!

This beauty is an ode to my namesake, Mr. Marc Jacobs. I actually excavated the World Wide Web to find it, and it happened to be hiding in the sale racks! This gem is part old world glamour, part plaid trend, and all fabulous!

Sure you might argue, its still Summer, I understand in some parts of the world the temperatures have reached triple digits, but come October trendsetters around the country will be begging me to let them borrow my Marc Jacobs. You can get your own at Net a Porter, it’s marked down 30% to $460.60; a small price for a lifetime of stylish winters!

Rich and Skinny

This denim empire has been around since my bestie worked at the Savvy department at Nordstroms, and proclaimed all the well to do ladies at this high end haven rocked these babies like no other! Rich and Skinny may very well be for the ladies who want to be R&S or really are just R&S, either way everyone will be coveting your booty in these fun, sassy jeans!

Photobucket

R&S come in basic denim shades as well as bold neon-like colors. I picked a few of the short looks for the coming heat wave of summer for your viewing pleasure. I really enjoy the "semi-high waisted, blouse tucked into shorts 70's summer vibe" look!

Girls Night Out!

For the past two and half years I have been attending Shecky's Girls Night Out in SF, and it has never really failed to disappoint! But yesterday when I went for the 6th time, it was just so-so. When is too much of a good thing bad for you?

Season after season Shecky’s never fails to provide the chic ladies of San Francisco the delight that is a shopping fashion circus complete with unlimited sugary cocktails, overpriced cheap clothes/bags straight from the Santee Alley and an overflowing goodie bag full of useless gems aka Aquafina face mist, and redness reducing facial cream.

You may be asking, why even go then? but believe it or not I plan for this event months in advance, I actually adore the "crap bag" as my sister calls it. Last night as I was scouring the remnants of the inside I was surprised/pleased to get my hands on a trial sized Astroglide, a mini Biore facial cleaner and two full sized Colgate toothpaste's.

Even though I did more sipping than shopping I did pick up a gorgeous handmade bracelet by B.Boheme. But I think next time I will just pick up my bag, sip on one glass of white, and call it a night!

What kind of girl are you?

Okay so I know I said I'm a Puella girl, but now I'm also a BILLION DOLLAR BABE. No that doesn't mean I'm a high priced hooker, it means I recently joined an exclusive invite only shopping club with PLATINUM membership status! It's called Billion Dollar Babes, they hold their shopping events worldwide: SF, NY, LA, Chicago, Dallas, London, and Dublin. It's pretty much a gigantic, adrenaline fueled, cocktail infused, estrogen filled, shopping extravaganza! And because I love hunting for a good bargain, I could spend all day at a sample sale like this digging through piles of designer duds.

To be honest though, I really joined because BDB bribed me with a FREE pair of this season's must have designer shades--to keep my peepers wrinkle-free, and the promise of a fabulous, $500 worth of lux goods filled end of the year goodie bag, among other goodies at the event!!!! So for the price of two crisp (ok, they don't have to be crisp) Ben Franklin's this all could be your's, by logging on to the site and shelling over the dough .

I'll let you know how the event went on the weekend of June 6th, 2008, and if it was worth the money. Until then, I guess you can also call me a Material girl!

I'm a Puella Girl

For a while now I have heard the line Puella mentioned by major fashion mags, and online reviews sing the fashion line's praises. But I honestly never checked out their goods until just recently. And I must say I am shocked that nobody let me in on this secret earlier.

Puella is what the ultimately chic, boho, hippie, fashionista would wear while trail-blazing through fantastic places like Barcelona, the South of France, Egypt, Naples, and tiny flea markets around the world. The clothes which mostly consist of camisoles, tee's and dainty little dresses can satisfy the indie chic hunger in every female.

So it would only seem fitting that every year Puella does a grab bag, 10 items for $150, and comes in the most gorgeous reusable tote (think saving the environment people)- which retails for over $800. Last year they ran out before I could get my hands on one. So this time around I pre-ordered mine. You can get your's on their site, and take an extra 30% off with 'dcpuella' at checkout. I'm crossing my fingers that everything in my bag is fabulous, Good Luck with yours!!!!

Clair De Lune

A few years ago I received an invitation to attend a Fashion Show for a boutique local to San Carlos. It was the first show for the boutique and generated a good deal of people, locals and fashionista’s alike. There was an impressive spread of appetizers, an open bar for all, a 20% discount on everything in the store, and a pretty cool show consisting of the stores employee’s parading around in the newest trends of the season on a makeshift runway. After circling the store 4 times, due to the champagne or because the show was yet to start, I decided on a scented soy candle. At the end of the night all the guests were treated to a little Chinese takeout box, with a handmade necklace inside! I really had a great time that night.

So this year when I received my invite to their ‘Blue Jeans Party’ I was devastated that I couldn’t attend because I was out of town. The employees in the store are so warm and have been there for years, so you know everyone by name. They have an impressive selection of designer clothes, denim, shoes, accessories, products for the home, and body. If you are ever in San Carlos, CA check out Clair de Lune, its on 625 Laurel St., and while you are there sign up to receive their emails and you too can be invited to all of their fashion events.

Heatherette

I just got back from a very relaxing vacay from Miami, and it was amazing. South Beach is beautiful, the people were very put together, the weather was great for laying out on the beach, and places to shop were everywhere.

I was so excited once I found out I was traveling to Miami, that I researched what to do. I found a party hosted by MAC cosmetics and designers Richie Rich and Traver Rains of Heatherette. I was SO stoked to be going to this really glam party with actual celebrities, cocktails, even a comp gift bag!! I never get to go to stuff like this in San Francisco.

On the night of the party, my plus two took to long to get ready, and unfortunately =(.... I didn't arrive to the party in time. I was pretty bummed out, especially when I found out the gift bags had a Heatherette shirt, and free makeup, poor me!

Well I am back in SF with no celeb sightings and 0 freebies, but have had a lot of time to check out the Heatherette Spring 08 collection, and I have two words.....funky fresh! The collection is eclectic, yet glamorous, a mix between the 80s and Betsey Johnson. My fav piece has to be a gorge red striped trenchcoat, it is perfect for spring!

Sure I missed out on probably the biggest party in South Beach last week, but I gained a newfound love for Heatherette's fresh take on fashion!

Easter is upon us

Hello Darlings,

It has almost been a long and arduous forty days of lent (I'm Catholic), and it is soon to be over. I am not only excited for an Easter basket full of goodies but also all the yummy shopping I will be doing in the coming days. I gave up shopping for lent, so the party shall reconvene on Sunday!!!

I have found some amazing deals on Victoriasecret.com; all of their clearance is an extra 40% off with code item40, unfortunately it's only on one item. Alloy.com has some really cool looking sandals, I love spring/summer and will be getting a new shipment of sandals shortly to show off my weekly pedicures. And I am loving the new stuff Old Navy is selling the tunics, the dresses, the cargo jumpsuits, I can't wait to start spending my hard-earned money =)!!!!!!

HAPPY EASTER!!!!

St. Patrick's Day!!

Yep it's that time of year again, this Monday March 17th is St. Patrick's Day. But why does it seem like if you don't bring out your giant green sweater you'll get pinched about 30 times. Don't get me wrong I'm all for green beer, and some Irish lads, but what should I wear that says I'm fun yet chic without looking like Oscar the Grouch?

Last year I wore a delicate mint green camisole to the festivites, but apparently that wasn't green enough--or warm enough!

Any ideas Fashion friends? I need some fun ideas asap!!
