Re: DO YOU: buy a handbag for its Label or its Features? - 07/31/08 19:07 PM

I go for features. Labels are good, but I don't buy designer unless I really love the style. I've found some great funky ones over the years at places like flea markets and sample sales.

Billion Dollar Babes - 06/17/08 18:06 PM

I agree with the consensus that the BDB sale was a treat! I tried on several things with the hordes of women in the makeshift dressing room and did wind up with 3 keepers. The good news is that I got out having spent less than $200! Too bad Carla only wound up with 2 things, I can vouch she tried on literally armfuls of clothing :) Seema's jewelry she got at the sale is also fabu!

Duke et Dutchess! - 07/17/08 23:07 PM

On Thursday night I went to the Duke et Dutchess opening in Hayes Valley. They specialize in premium denim and what a selection! If it were less crowded I would've perused the inventory more, but not to worry I'll be back! (Not that I'm complaining, it was a fun scene and anyplace with open bar and sushi catering is good by me!) The most refreshing thing however is the prices - they're quite reasonable which is increasingly hard to find in denim. Cute bags too. Definitely go check it out...

Just got a photo of me (on right) with my friend Jessica courtesy of Drew Altizer photography:

Re: Has all of the media attention on eco-friendly fashion influenced your fashion choices? - 05/05/08 17:05 PM

I think the media attention is great, anything that helps expand green living into the community is a good thing. Personally I didn't realize how many good eco-friendly fashion choices were out there until recently. Last year I found a really cute top in Mendocino County that turned out to be made of bamboo. It's really soft and best of all, machine washable. I hope to add more of these type of pieces to my closet.

Goldenbleu! - 04/24/08 17:04 PM

This past weekend I went to the Goldenbleu shoe sale (thanks for the tip Carla!) and it was so much fun! It was a frenzy of women and shoes and I felt like a kid in a candy store. I knew of Goldenbleu's purses, but didn't realize they had so many cute shoes as well. In fact, they felt surprisingly comfortable too! I came away with some great boots and my friend who accompanied got some killer heels. I'm definitely adding Goldenbleu to my list of fave designers...
