Q: What inspires you to design?
A: I am constantly inspired by the modern woman, who does not save her fine china, best lingerie or favorite designer heels for special occasions. SHE is the occasion. This line is, and will forever be, for her.

Q: What one word best describes your designs?
A: Indulgent.

Q: If you were to dress one person, who would that be?
A: Too many to list!

Q: Who is your favorite new designer, besides your own collection?
A: Rodarte. Even though they're no longer “new,” I think people everywhere are starting to recognize their genius. They make beautifully cut, dramatic dresses and separates that make me want to have somewhere fabulous to go.

Q: What bag do you lust for this season?
A: There are two, both by Marc Jacobs: The Stam Quilted Frame bag, and the Hudson Striping Tote. Yum.

Q: What charitable cause is most important to you?
A: AIDS charities that reach women, both here and abroad. While we’ve made wonderful strides in slowing the spread of the disease in some demographic groups, the epidemic continues to steal the hopes, dreams and lives of young women and this must stop

Q: What did you do before you became a designer?
A: I owned (and still own) iCovet, Inc., a personal shopping service that provides fashion and design guidance to women and men with more style than time.

Q: What is your secret indulgence (fashion or otherwise)?
A: I keep none of my indulgences secret! I love major handbags, shoes that stop others in their tracks and sipping champagne like water
