Q: What inspires you to design?
A:
Our ispiration comes in many forms. It's usually inspired by observing friends or families or strangers that may have fashion issue's.
A: Necessary Q: If you were to dress one person, who would that be?
A: I would love to give Beyonce' our isABelt she has the perfect figure for it and would love the product. Q: Who is your favorite new designer, besides your own collection?
A: There are so many. I love new innovative fashion "fix-its." Q: What bag do you lust for this season?
A: Marc Jacob Mercer Owen Bag Q: What charitable cause is most important to you?
A: We did a BCA isABelt for breast cancer awareness. Breast cancer has touched someone near and dear to us all. Q: What did you do before you became a designer?
A: There are three of us Moms, Lori is a Registered Dental Assistant and EMT, Elise and Leslie both do executive search and consulting. Moms of 15 kids together ages 8-25. Q: What is your secret indulgence (fashion or otherwise)?
A: Sushi and Saki (would do it every day)
IsABelt was founded in May of 2007 by three 40+ sisters who are moms of 15 kids collectively. They started their business by consigning the isABelt locally and are now in more than 400 retailers across the US, Canada, Caribbean and Europe.
Leslie Wilkins-Gaudio, came up with the idea while shopping for some new low-rise jeans. As cute as the pants were, they would not stay up and the thong would not stay in. She found herself having to wear a belt even when she didn’t want to, or even when her outfit didn’t call for a belt. Leslie saw that her friends and women all over had the same problem: belt bulge or peep show. Leslie saw it as her responsibility to create a solution to this problem. In addition to the isABelt available is Sm. Med. Lrg. and Plus, there is a Jr isABelt with fun designs, A BCA isABelt adorn with pink ribbons and a hisABelt. The Wilkins girls have many more products in development.
