daniblack is the creation of husband-and-wife team Daniel and Barbara Schwartz. The trendsetting line of women's footwear debuted in Spring 2005 and garnered instant acclaim from the fashion community, including the editors of Lucky, WWD, Glamour and InStyle, to name only a few. Sexy, whimsical silhouettes and luxe materials in vibrant color combinations create the distinctly feminine style that is daniblack.
President Danny Schwartz is no stranger to the shoe business. In 1923 his grandfather opened Schwartz & Benjamin, a New York footwear manufacturer, with partner Ben Benjamin. Danny's father, Arthur Schwartz, transitioned the business to a "state of the art" import/licensing/distribution company. Schwartz & Benjamin has served as footwear licensee for many of the world's most prestigious fashion houses, including Anne Klein, Givenchy and Yves Saint Laurent. Today Danny is President and CEO of Schwartz & Benjamin, which produces footwear for Diane Von Furstenberg, Juicy Couture, kate spade, Kors Michael Kors and Michael Kors, in addition to overseeing own footwear collection, daniblack. Barbara Schwartz is Director of Product Development for the spectrum of Schwartz & Benjamin brands, and oversees the design process for all daniblack creations. Her background in fashion and technical product development and her instinctive sense of style and taste are the guiding forces for the evolution of daniblack footwear.
