brandhabit's interview with
Jianka Design

Q: What inspires you to design?
A: It could be a film, a woman, or beautiful eyes I've seen on the street or just the sun shinning; I love that one moment in time, visualize it and then build a world of jewelry around it.

Q: What one word best describes your designs?
A: Sensual

Q: If you were to dress one person, who would that be?
A: Either Charlize Theron, Angelina Jolie or Natalie Portman.

Q: Who is your favorite new designer, besides your own collection?
A: I've just seen Wahine's work and loved it!

Q: What bag do you lust for this season?
A: Guess Satchel in red leather.

Q: What charitable cause is most important to you?
A: Abused women and kids, followed by stem cell research and breast cancer.

Q: What did you do before you became a designer?
A: Painting

Q: What is your secret indulgence (fashion or otherwise)?
A: I indulge myself with chocolate and I love cats but fashion wise I fancy dresses.

Georgiana G., the owner and designer of Jianka Design, always felt passionate about art, fashion and design. Early exposure to her grandmother knitting and sewing techniques, gave Georgiana the opportunity to cultivate a taste for fashion, later on designing her own accessories.
Born and raised in Bucharest, Romania where she attained a degree in International Relations, Georgiana moved to Chicago in 2002 where she continued to design her own handmade jewelry, being inspired by different cultures, nature and art.
Georgiana views her jewelry as works of art where color combination is very important in each piece. Her designs are feminine, chic and unique. "I create every piece individually, by hand, and I'll change my style along the way being a fashion conscious person, so a piece that you see today it might be gone tomorrow."
Jianka's pieces can be worn casually dressed or with elegant evening wear.
"I believe choosing to accessorize reveals how you feel at that moment!"
