In Her Shoes opened in October of 2007 to donate all its profits to the Global Fund for Women. I got the idea for the name of the store from I book I received called, In Her Hands. I thought about a Global Fund for Women grantee who risk her life to make the world a better place and felt I wouldn't want to walk IN HER SHOES, hence the name. My children were almost out of the nest and I was looking for something rewarding to do. My best friend from high school had a shoe store that I modeled In Her Shoes after and now I have a way of giving back that is meaningful. Since the store has opened I have donated $45,000 to the Global Fund for Women. Owner Pamela Rosekranz.
