Amidst the Haight's thrift stores, galleries, and indie-music shops lies Chrissy Bee, a true gem of a boutique. Whether you're flirty and girly or pierced and tattooed, this off the beaten path locale will outfit you in threads guaranteed to make you look like one stylish gal. The selection includes a mix of contemporary favorites and up and coming designers. Feeling casual? Pair a cool Linea Pelle belt with Freedom of Choice jeans. Want to gussy yourself up? Try a pretty Yumi Kim dress on for size. If you're having a hard time deciding which lovely ensemble to take home, you won't run into a snooty shopgirl or "too cool to help you" hipster at Chrissy Bee. The uber sweet staff will personalize your shopping experience, showering you with personal attention, fashion tips, and chilled beverages as you partake in retail therapy. The customer is always queen, receiving perks like free pant hemming and alterations (all the time) and a free gift with your first purchase. Don't miss out on Chrissy Bee's monthly art openings, featuring work by local artists, wine, munchies, DJ-spun tunes, and racks of pretty clothes to browse, of course! If we hadn't seen it with our own eyes, we wouldn't believe that a boutique/gallery/hotspot like Chrissy Bee could exist.
Most Buzz-Worthy Boutique (7x7 Magazine)
Chrissy Bee feels like a shop that was on its way to the Marina or Cow Hollow and somehow got lost in the Haight. And, hey, that’s not a bad thing. The recently opened, postage-sized boutique is for the San Francisco girlie girl—with an edge. Think pretty party dresses by Helen Wang, silk-kimono minidresses by Yumi Kim, Josh Podoll shrunken jackets, Orange Button fitted T-shirts and Denim of Virtue jeans. Adding to the neighborhood vibe, co-owners Anya Zebroski and Deborah Genet host the occasional cocktail-hour trunk show and art opening—their walls also serve as a makeshift gallery for local artists.
