A: Fun

Q: What three words best describes your customer?
A: trendy, sophisticated, girly

Q: What makes your store different from the rest?
A: We are actually the only shoe boutique in Joplin but we try to make sure that we have things you don't find everywhere else. We also carry limited quantities and rarely reoder, so that uniqueness is really important.

Q: Name one person you would love to dress:
A: Eva Longoria Parker

Q: What article of clothing have you kept forever and why?
A: Some green steve madden boots that I got for christmas years ago. I don't wear them that much but I love green so I can't get rid of them because when do you find green boots?!

A: trendy, but timeless.

Q: If you did not pursue a retail career, what would you be doing?
A: An interior designer.

Q: What is your current fashion fixation/fetish?
A: My custom Miss Mak handbag and my new Carlos Santana Whistle heels.

Sophie was created in January of 2007 by Ashley Rush. She has grown up in the area and knows all too well that the Joplin area needed something different, something that would keep customers in the area rather than continually going out of town to find those unique items that everyone searches for. Upon graduating from Missouri State University in December 2006 with a degree in Fashion Merchandising, she began going to markets from Las Vegas to New York to find those unique products that would make Sophie stand out from the rest of the crowd just as she hoped her customers would. After months of planning and building her business she opened her doors on July 30th and has been going strong ever since. The goal at Sophie is to provide a variety of trendy but wearable products that can essentially be your one stop shop to complete any outfit. From the shoes to the coordinating handbag to the jewelry or sunglasses to top it all off. Sophie strives to provide quality, unique products that you won't find anywhere else. Sophie is constantly striving to introduce new products and brands to keep everything fresh and visiting top markets in the industry in order to do so. Sophie also offers a variety of customizable products to make sure that you are have something that is truly unique. We also order in limited quantities in all items which gives you more variety and assures that you won't be out on the town and see 10 other people wearing the same things you are. We have recently been featured in Around Town Monthly, Joplin Tri-State Business Journal and most recently in Grace Magazine. We are also part of the Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce and are working to become involved in many aspects of the community by teaming with different charities around town so that all good work stays local. Sophie would like to thank all of those who have helped to make us a success thus far and all of those that will continue to help grow and support our business for years to come.
