Q: What three words best describes your customer?

Q: What article of clothing have you kept forever and why?
A: I keep all of my Prada shoes, as if I'm compiling a shoe museum or something!?! I love my M Clothing designers - DVF, Rebecca Taylor, Rozae Nichols, Kathy Kamei jewelry, etc and my Pradas (particularly the platforms) always finish the look for me.

A: Comfortable being exactly you! M Clothing wants to compliment the fabulous woman that you already are!

A: I WAS a foreign commercial service officer, and I have a Master's Degree in Russian and International Studies from Columbia University.

Q: What is your current fashion fixation/fetish?
A: I'm obsessed with shift/swing dresses, cocktail rings, and high rise jeans - and always, always color and pattern!

M Clothing in Corte Madera opened in 2005. It had to – Marty lives near this charming old town square town centered on the railroad line that used to carry wealthy San Franciscans to their summer cabins in Marin County

After opening her first, successful store in Healdsburg, customers, friends and family asked owner Marty Murphy, when, and where, the second store would be.

Then one day, as it was with the kismet in Healdsburg, a “for rent” sign showed up in a beautiful old building in Corte Madera that used to be a candy store at the turn of the century (Marty’s kids want her to sell candy at the store, again…) Her landlords own the well-known Benissimo’s restaurant just two doors down, and the adjacent Stellar Spa draws savvy women shoppers from all over the county to the neighborhood. Her next door neighbor, the Corte Madera Café is always busy, too, and many a happy gal emerges from the café after breakfast or lunch to enjoy finding just the right outfit at M Clothing. It’s also helpful to have several fabulous hair salons, Rick’s wine cellar, Jill Dailey’s Dailey Method fitness program and other charming stores around the Corte Madera square – hmmm, it’s a smaller version of Healdsburg charm, but only 15 minutes north of San Francisco.

M Clothing Corte Madera enjoys serving both career women and the “moms in the ‘hood”, offering a wide range of dressy and casual designers. As with M Clothing Healdsburg, Marty also enjoys supporting local Marin public and private schools and various cancer organizations through donations and fashion shows offered by the store. Marty can often be found selling Nanette Lepore and Rebecca Taylor in the Corte Madera store while playing Lego with a bunch of children. Who says high fashion and real life can’t be found in the same place?
