Billion Dollar Babes
So almost our entire BH team made it to the sale!!! It was fabulous! I totally scored in the jewelry section. I had the pleasure of meeting designer Mabel Chong(https://mabelchong.com/home.cfm) and purchased an AMAZINGLY GORGEOUS delicate triple chain gold necklace with colorful precious gemstones!! I LOVE IT!
I also met the lovely Lirany Vasquez of Pretty Little Thing NYC(pltnyc.com) and picked up an adorable handcuff love necklace and a flattering pair of filigree and suede woven earrings! You can check both of those items out on her site!
It has only been about two weeks since the sale and I have worn all three items like crazy, and of course have gotten many compliments!!!
OMG, the Billion Dollar Babes sales is THE SALE OF THE YEAR! For those of you that don't know about it, you HAVE to keep your eyes open for it next year.
I saw the jewelry you bought Seema... gorgeous stuff! I am so critical about jewelry and these items were totally unique and special.
For myself, I treat this annual shopping excursion like a business meeting. One of our interns saw me there and wanted to chat but I was seriously working the racks... methodically. No time to chat.
It is the one time of year that I try on things I might never wear... but I ended up with only two items from one of my favorite designers: Black Halo.
I picked up a super sexy, figure hugging pewter power dress.. very Jackie-O. I also found a tuxedo vest... something I could wear during the day for business and then out at night with nothing under it...
Yeah! I can't wait until next year!
The BDB sale was totally worth taking a few buses and a Bart train to get too! I had a great time catching up with the BH team for the second time that week and a good friend of mine from college.
As soon as we stepped into the beautiful location we were greeted with champagne cocktails--which are always good!! There were racks upon racks of gorgeous designer apparel; a few labels were Tibi, T-Bags, Black Halo, Elle Macpherson intimates, and so much more. I settled on trying a gorgeous white cotton Chris and Jamie sheath, and a fun wild Vivienne Westwood poncho, which I thought would bring out my inner Carrie Bradshaw, but looked more like Bozo the clown lost at a Neiman's sample sale.
I left with a beautiful pair of Michael Kors sunglasses, in a gorge mock croc case, courtesy of being a Platinum BDB. Overall, this is a sale not to missed, if you have the opportunity to browse the racks before the crowds get off of work... do so, it is a bit hard to try on stuff when there are no mirrors available.
I agree with the consensus that the BDB sale was a treat! I tried on several things with the hordes of women in the makeshift dressing room and did wind up with 3 keepers. The good news is that I got out having spent less than $200! Too bad Carla only wound up with 2 things, I can vouch she tried on literally armfuls of clothing :) Seema's jewelry she got at the sale is also fabu!
Above Fantastic- I can't wait for the NY show in August!
Surrounded by these top designers can make any girl absolutely delirious- and to top it off we were treated like queens.
