When I tell people I went to college in New York their eyes light up and they take me for a big city gal. “WOW, you’re so lucky to go to college in the city!” Before I can respond with the unfortunate news that I went to school in Western New York, an artic tundra void of any entertainment but making snow angels, they’ve already rattled off five billion questions about big city life.
Most girl-friends gush about the shopping I must have participated in. It’s unfortunate but outside of New York City shopping in New York State is rather dismal and non-existent. Unless you like to go to the mall.

Fortunately there are a few glimmers of hope concerning the state of fashion in the separate entity that is New York State (NY State is reminiscent of Area 51 FYI). Kingston, New York is nestled on the Hudson River two hours from New York City. But Next Boutique Ltd. has managed to bring the big city to the small town.

Well, they’re (the ladies who work there will be just excited to be there as you are, trust me! They want to outfit you like a star!) going to provide you with impeccable customer service and outfit you in brands like James Perse, Hudson Jeans, Hobo and Free People. They even carry my new favorite, Julie Haus.

I so desperately want her new ethereal capped sleeve white dress that when I fly home next month I might have to make a trek to Kingston, New York to try that dress on. But the window displays and merchandising make all their merchandise necessary. Especially the jewelry Next carries. That dress and a sweet Crislu sterling platinum bracelet with two rows of Bezel stones. . .

And who said you had to go to the Big Apple for big time fashion?
