My mother is a wonderful shopping partner. Not only is she fun to go with, but she's good at it too. My favorite trick of the trade is when she dons a new pair of boots and my father does a double take, asking with furrowed brows, "Where and when did you get those?" Her expert reply, "These? I've had these forever." No more questions asked.

But imagine your mom as not only a shopping partner, but a business partner. Imagine you and your mom owning two boutiques in Connecticut! For my mom and me I'm sure we'd sink our profit right back into our own wardrobes. But as Alisha Pavacich says of her business partner, "we compliment each other so well. . . she hits an older classy customer and I am drawn to the trendier and bolder lines."

Alisha gushes that the new Lauren Conrad line (yes, that chick from that "reality" show) has been "selling amazing" and the dresses are "flying out of the store." Another new line she loves that has been named one of Lucky Magazine's 2008 must watch designers is Dolan. The boutique also carries Betsy Johnson, Bread and Butter, Juicy Couture, Seven and Voom to name a few.

Shopping at Bella Fuchsia is like being invited to Alisha and Rochelle's to have a girl's day. It's got a homey, warm feeling. TVs play Clueless and Sixteen Candles, they'll even throw in cartoons to distract a youngster while you sift through the racks. Most importantly Alisha and her mom live by a golden rule: always tell the truth. If something doesn't work on your body, they'll let you know, but they'll also go above and beyond to find something perfect for your body. That perfect something you can tell your dad or husband that you've had forever.
