hmmmm....plaid....

Normally I don't wear plaid. I think it looks cool, like those buffalo flannels that the hipster's wear, and I think it's really cute as school uniforms, but never for me. Until I came across this skirt at Urban Outfitters, it has a great high (but not too high) waist silohette, and the red is just right (not to orange). With a slim black turtleneck, and some black tights and either boots or suede heels, I think I will venture into the world of plaid.

I've never worn plaid before, but this fall I've been craving a red plaid coat. I haven't found one I can't live without yet, unfortunately. I really like the fabric on this skirt because it's more subdued than the colors I've been seeing. Now I need to find it in coat form! Marc by Marc Jacobs has an insanely cute plaid coat in a cream color right now that I wish was hanging in my closet. It's called the Morag Plaid in Artichoke Yellow (does NOT look like an artichoke, promise). Not traditional plaid, but I feel like I could wear it forever!
